Leatherface Texas Chainsaw Massacre III Resources American Humane Association Film Unit Review: Leatherface Texas Chainsaw Massacre III - The AHA review describes Leatherface as "a mindless mix of foul language and unbridled, bloody violence." However, it seems that the armadillo and the coyote were treated humanely. The AHA describes how two scenes were shot so as to minimize the risk to the animals. "In a scene where an armadillo is hit by a car, both a fake and real armadillo were used. The real armadillo was briefly sedated by a veterinarian and an American Humane representative was present at all times." The AHA monitored the filming and rates Leatherface as Acceptable (their highest mark).
